1. Scope

1.1

This Standard applies to the design, construction, installation, operation, inspection, test, maintenance, alte ration, and repair of suspended elevating platforms designed to carry personnel for the purpose of gaining access to exterior and interior building surfaces and other structures.

1.2

This Standard also applies to manually operated platforms and bosun's chairs.

1.3

This Standard does not provide requirements for multi-point bridge platforms.

1.4

This Standard does not provide requirements for descent control devices.
